The sugary smell of progress.
This is the second completed illustration for a concept I'd been working on with Futurerecordings.
I quite like doing this. I'd love to make my freelancing more than just a part time job on the side.
An update:
I just got the go-ahead to begin a refined illustration for another project I'd previously mentioned in another post. I'm working with the band Iselia, based in North Carolina, to create all the album artwork for their next release, due out this summer. We were torn between two different concepts, but just last night the band finalized their decision so I'm really excited to get to work on it!
Also, all of the raw materials are finally gathered for the wedding rings I was commissioned to create for a friend. Once I begin fabricating the different elements I'll begin posting pictures of them on here as well.

Leo.
Hopefully, this illustration will be the first of many collaborations with an indie music label based in California called Futurerecordings. It's going to be included as part of a CD sleeve for an upcoming release from the band Nemean Lion.

Progress.
Today was a marvelous day.
An illustration I just completed last night for an independent record label based in California received some pretty great reviews today and it's going to be included on a CD insert for one of the bands it represents. We weren't sure what to expect, seeing as to how this was our very first collaboration together, but all in all I think it went really, really well.
There's also a new project on the horizon with a band hailing from North Carolina. I just met up with them for the first time today so stay tuned as I reveal more info over the next few months!
Also, I should really begin taking my camera to the jewelry store every day. I'd like to share the custom work I do with you. Today, par exemple, I created a piece for an older woman who is no longer able to wear her wedding ring due to a pretty severe case of arthritis. The head and side diamonds from her ring are now part of a one-of-a-kind pendent she can wear on a chain around her neck. Come to think of it she and her husband won't be in to pick it up until either tomorrow or Monday, so maybe with their permission, I'll take a picture of it to post on here when I go in tomorrow.
Marvelous day, indeed.
