I need to work with figures and portraits in ink. It's not s strong suit of mine so I tend to shy away from doing it. No more!
I'm giving a little nod to Danny Roberts here. It's probably a good idea to start numbering these because otherwise eventually the folder where I'm storing them on my computer is going to become really, really unruly.

Keep the Doctor Away: Day 1.
It's been a while since I've allowed myself the time to sit down and draw a picture just for the sake of drawing a picture. I realize that I have quite a few strengths and weaknesses as far as my illustration work goes, the latter outnumbering the former. I also realize that not everyone would fess up to this, but that's okay because I know there's progress to be made. If not daily, I'd like to post something up here at least every several days to keep myself sharp, focusing on areas that could use a little work, so brace yourselves. Some of this is bound to be a little rough around the edges.
I spent about an hour and a half working on today's sketch. Ideally, I'll take maybe 45 minutes to an hour from here on out to draw something every day. Anything. A face, a tree, an old rusty bicycle, my best friend's collection of commemorative touristy shot glasses. One hour a day is entirely feasible, right? Right! So I'm going to give this a whirl.
Day one: A really rough sketch of the old Edinboro Cemetery, my own little corner of the universe.
